If you're a contractor or a property manager, you've probably run into a Delta shower cartridge that just wouldn't come out. Or you've installed a Cassidy faucet only to have the homeowner call you back a week later with a complaint.

The problem is the mounting system. The Cassidy uses a single-hole design with a large, threaded shank. How to Figure Out Which Scenario You're In

  • If the cartridge is physically stuck and you've already tried the tool: You're in Scenario 1. Don't force it. Use penetrating oil, and if that fails, quote the valve replacement.
  • If you're installing a new Cassidy faucet and are working alone: You're in Scenario 2. Find a helper or plan for a frustrating install.
  • If you have a leak and don't know which part to order: You're in Scenario 3. Go look at the valve body. Don't guess.
